Hello guys , I have a motherboard h91m plus ASROCK with 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 , 1 x PCIe x1 2.0
My question is if I can put a video card ASUS Radeon R9 270 ( PCIe 3.0 )
If so, what consequences? fps drops? working lower?
Yes, the card is compatible. It will simply run at PCI-e 2.0x16 instead of 3.0x16. Theoretical bandwidth will be halved but you will not notice any difference in games - they just don't come close to saturating 2.0x16 anyway.
Yep, it's backward compatible. My PCI-E 3.0 is running at 2.0 and everything's working fine. Like aznricepuff said, it won't have any noticeable impact on performance in games.
