Will 750 Power supply be enough ??

Here are my specs, only thing left to is memory and graphics card, they will be here tuesday.

Will 750 be enough? and can I expand and get more hard drives? thanks

Sounds like you've already ordered the parts, so why are you asking after the fact? And I find it odd that you're asking about a 750W PSU when you apparently orderd a 700W?

I agree with rvilkman - 750W is enough, but you should have gotten a better brand with a single high amperage +12v rail, active PFC, 80% plus efficiency, decent warranty. And to get that, you'd have to pay a little more. But considering that every component in the system requires reliable/stable power, paying a little more is worth the investment.

A 750 will handle that build plus adding a 2nd GFX card in CF or SLI if you decide instead to "go green" w/ anything up to a 560 Ti. Your model choice however, I'll agree with the others in that it is not a good one. Where I will disagree, is that buying by brand name is no guarantee of quality. Several posters have recommended Antec for example. Which of the following do you think is true ?

The answer .... all of the above. Manufacturer's are in business to make money ... the more they sell the more they make. Targeting a single market demographic limits the number of customers you can sell to, limiting the amount of sales. So most vendors sell to multiple market segments:

As yu can see by the above, "going shopping" with a mindset that says "Antec makes good stuff" has a significant chance of leaving you quite disappointed.

1st Tier units are recommended for twin GFX cards and serious overclocking. These would include Antec SG / CP series, most Corsair HX / AX series, Seasonic X series, XFX Black Editions.

2nd tier units can handle twin GFX cards and moderate overclocking or serious overclocking and one GFX card..... voltage stability will likely be an issue trying to squeeze that extra 0.1 or 0.2 Ghz. This would include Antec HCP, HCG, TPQ, some EA series, Corsair TX series, XFX Core Editions.

3rd tier units should be avoided such as the CoolMax unless it's a basic non gaming system for web access and standard office apps.

4th tier units like RaidMax and the ones in the link should only be purchased along with a fire insurance policy :)



You are right of course that there is the chance that you are left disappointed.

I think overall the listing of the top ~5 brands to go for still gives you a better chance to choose correctly. Where as for raidmax, coolmax, diablotek etc it's pretty much impossible to go right. The listing is usually also followed by a suggestion or two in those brands to point to the right direction / level.

But I for one am glad for this clarification of the tiers and ratings within Antec PSU's.

Even the "crappy" Antec units you listed were better than many others, particularly the year they were tested (2008?). The only current-at-the-time mediocre Antec review I recall is the 430W Basiq, although I wouldn't buy ANY non-Active PFC PSU today (wtf was Antec thinking releasing the new VP line? That just proves Jack's multiple segment comment).
And, I don't think Seasonic knows how to build a crappy PSU; they are responsible for many of the better Corsair, XFX, and some Antec units too.

Wattage means close to nothing, Watt = Amp * Volt. With your focus being on the 12v rails it's a better idea to look at the amperage. You shouldn't need to worry about the CPU's draw look at the PCIe rails and make sure they provide more than your graphics card's maximum consumption.

Of course going with a name-brand 600+ watt power supply is generally good.

The Antec 750w you are considering will give you a good 120 amps to play with. One of those 12v(s) will go to your processor.

Go modular if you can, it's definitely an upgrade that make the building process more fun and enjoyable.
