I am getting a new GPU (AMD Radeon 7770 , 1GB) ........my mother board's PCI-E slot is a normal (the old) x16 slot, now i don't know if its caled version 1.0 or not , but since the versions 2.0 and 3.0 are here , I'm presuming it is !! I've heard all the newcards that come out these days are "backwards compatible" and most old slots WILL support them...but still wanna be sure since i'm really into this GPU and really wanna get it.

My PC , an ASUS M2N68-AM Plus MoBo , Transcend DDR II 2GB RAM , AMD Athlon II x2 250 CPU (3.0 GHz)

Unfortunately, while you could use that card in that motherboard, it would be wasted on that PC because your CPU and RAM are severely lacking. I would advise you add another 2gb of RAM and also upgrade your CPU to something like this-http://www.amazon.com/AMD-HDZ955FBGMBOX-Phenom-Edition-3-2GHz/dp/B002TQYUAE.

However you don't have to get that particular CPU but you need to get at least a CPU that is of the Phenom II brand or Athlon II x4.
