Will a 1550 work with a 1551 socket?

Title pretty much describes it. My old acer aspire has kicked the bucket but the cpu is still good so I'm going to salvage it (i5 4460). However, my new computer is going to have a board that has a 1551 socket, because eventually when I want to upgrade to an i7 I wont have to purchase a new one.

No, that won't work. A CPU won't work in a socket it wasn't designed for.

The i5 4460 is socket 1150 and it will only work in a socket 1150 motherboard.

Thanks, I just wanted to check, maybe it was just an "improved" socket that was still compatible. Bummer!
