Will my 500w psu run a EVGA SC GTX 970 with an intel i7 4770 processor+12gb ram? I will be running games w/ an Oculus Rift with this rig and want to make sure that it won't push my PC to the point of damaging any components.

Here's a picture of the PSU: http://imgur.com/UTtNYKU

I wouldn't be overclocking either.

fsp is a well known PSU manufacturer, but I`m most likely familiar with the black themed ones, a quick search and I found a bronze rated one that is similar to urs.
if this is a geniun unit then yes, 500w will be enough although 600w would give u better headspace, but beware of overclocking just to stay safe.
with 2 hdd cd room and an ssd u`ll be at around 450w.

did another calculation and the result was even less 388w http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine, so yup it`s more than enough. I would however recommend E-mailing the serial and model with the pic link to FSP just if u have doubt about how genuine is ur PSU. although I`m 80% its original.
as for the oculus rift, I think it has it`s own power source. so it doesn`t use your PSU power.
