Hi I was wondering if I should upgrade my current PSU from a 650W to a 735W or more. I plan on overclocking my i7 to around 4.5GHZ . Will my current new PSU still work? Pcpartpicker.com says im at 437w minimum so it would seem I have plenty of room to overclock? Thanks!!!
My build:
i7-4770k
Nvidia GTX 770
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
5 120mm Fans
DVD ROM
AS Rock Z87 Motherboard
OCZ Bronze Certified 650W PSU

You will not need to upgrade the PSU, overclocking does use more power, but not alot compared to a mid to high end graphics card. Also (because overclocking does use more power and hence, heat) you will need an aftermarket CPU cooler. The best value for cooling is the CoolerMaster hyper 212 EVO, but I prefer closed loop watercoolers for the versatility.

Yea I'm pretty sure overclocking requires more power... anyways my PSU is a: OCZ ZT Series 650W Fully-Modular 80PLUS Bronze High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Ah ok. Im thinking of getting a Coolermaster 212 Plus or Evo. Newegg video doesn't show much difference... So which one should I get? Thanks for reply.

Okay thank you for your reply! I was worried I got a PSU that was not powerful enough to overclock alot lol.

I was advised in another thread that the plus isn't compatible with your chipset. Get the EVO.
