Bought a new system looking for something bigger and better for family media. Had to roll back 10 to windows pro 7, didn't know a dang thing about NAS until now, and still wondering if it will work inside my desktop. Instead of having to shell out more money for nas system can I not install in desktop, can't seem to find the answer out there on the net?
Thanks for any and all info.

Inside? Absolutely not, NAS are made to be OUTSIDE the computer! However, you can set up shared files quite easily and have similar effect.

If you had Win 10 pro installed, upgrade again (you can do it if you upgraded once) and enable folder sharing (much better and easier in 10. If you put in a few extra disks, you can enable Hyper-V and download a NAS oriented linux distro for full NAS style interfacing and easy upgrade to a dedicated machine when you decide that is good for you.
