I am planning on upgrading my computer by buying a radeon 7870 and also buying a new psu to power it but i am worried that the motherboard will not support the new gpu and psu because i have heard bad things about lenovo motherboards. I downloaded a program to check what mother board i have but it only told me it was by lenovo. My processor is an i5-2310 and this is my rig http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108568 I also heard from someone on a review of the computer elsewhere that they bought a new psu for it but some of the connectors did not fit the motherboard, any help would be appreciated, thanks. Edit: I think that the motherboard is a P67 express chipset. It is also a sandybridge with a H61 southbridge if that helps.

I was looking at these 2 psu's http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-152-028%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20

leaning towards the raidmax one

Yeah, i had a raidmax and it wasn't so great, good for a while then started to crap out even though it should have only been at about 50% draw, they don't have the best track record. a corsair cx500 is a much better option and a great deal (i have one in my rig and it's been great so far). For straight up reliability and quality: Seasonic, XFX (rebranded seasonic), and higher trim corsair PSU's are the best.

Are those not trusted psu brands? And i guess it would be smart to buy a higher end psu since it powers everything. One last question, do you think that the 7870 will fit in this case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108568
The current card in there, the 6450 is 7 inches, and the 7870 is around 10, based on the pictures do you think that it will fit? thanks

Ok well after some research on the psu i have one last question, i looked up how many watts my system would be useing with the 7870 installed and it was around 300w-400w, AMD suggests to have a 500w power supply but is it really needed if my system won't be useing that much power? If not this psu has been highly reviewed and recommended . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

You should always leave some breathing room for expansion and so you're not running at 100% load all the time. I'm running a cx500 and would recommend it highly.
