Will a 8 gig 2400 mhz and 3200 mhz ram work in dual channel if 3200 mhz is clocked at 2400 mhz due to ryzen 5 3550h,
I want to upgrade my laptop's ram
The pre-installed ram is 8gb 3200 mhz but due to limitation of ryzen mobile cpu ryzen 5 3550h it runs at 2400 mhz ,so will a 8gb -2400 mhz ram work in dual channel with the 8gb -3200mhz.

It’s risky.

The ideal solution is selling your RAM and buying a kit of 2, from the “qualified vendor list” (of your laptop model).

The second best solution, which I don’t guarantee 100% that it will work, is buying another RAM module, identical to the first (same model).

I'm an advocate of not mixing and matching sticks of ram. If you want to perform a ram upgrade, either look into buying the same stick of ram to pair it up or a kit of ram(dual channel kit) that comes from the factory. Now, before any ram upgrade, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your laptop.

Due to your processor, DDR-4-2400Mhz is what I'd ask you to look at in terms of a kit.
