My router only goes up to 802.11g. I need a new Wireless USB Adapter, and they seem to only be 802.11n. Are they backwards compatible with 802.11g routers??

Solution
Yes. You should also get a new router too, because those Gs are way out of date and are limiting your ability to perform for the current Internet speeds. So if you had 3 or 5 people all wirelessly attaching, there isn't enough wireless bandwidth to share your nice Internet speed with each one properly.

Unfortunately I am with Bell: The Satan of ISPs. You're forced to use their router.

I'm changing providers soon. There's tons that provide 5x the speed, use your own router, have unlimited bandwidth, and are half the price.

Thanks for the answer.

Uhmm actually if you contact Bell, they may have a free upgrade program, as most of the time they don't "push" out newer models, they just tend to only worry about collecting the 'cost' for them. They may not realize you, customer 945,287 is still on a G modem / router until you tell them, then the 'computer' will inform them they can upgrade your router.
