Hello. I currently have a Razer blade stealth laptop 2017 with i7-8550U cpu@1.8Ghz, 16 GB Ram and 512 GB SSD. I have a Razer Core V2 with a GeForce 1070 SC. I would like to upgrade the gpu to a 2080. Will the current cpu specs bottleneck the gpu apart from the already existing 10-15% loss from the thunderbolt connection between laptop and gpu?

Thank You

Solution
This really depends, but I won't bore you with the cpu-gpu bottlenecks

The real bottleneck here is the thunderbolt dock.

Yes, you will get more performance, but it's just not nearly as much as the 2080 can do in a normal tower.
