Will a 970 EVO M.2 boot Win10 OS in an Asus M5A97 R2.0 Mobo?

As the title says:

Will a 970 EVO M.2 boot Win10 OS in an Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard?

I have it connected in one of the PCIE slots via an adapter, and have the Windows 10 OS installed in it. However, when I try to boot to it for OS setup, the bios does not recognize it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Asus M5A97 R2.0 does not support NVMe storage.

You need a third-party BIOS mod or something such as Clover.
