I currently have an Asus M4A77TD with the 770 chipset and 710 SB but I am going to be purchasing a new ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard. I want to get more out of overclocking. Here's my specs:

CPU: Phenom II X3 740 Black Edition
Motherboard: Asus M4A77TD
G-Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM
PSU: OCZ Stealth X Stream 700W

It says it supports 1066/1333/1600 stock and overclock 18 or 2000? I cant remember. But I do plan on getting different ram because when I bought this ram I had very minimal knowledge that it was designed for intel, being that said I can run the timings it offers on my current board. Also what is CF???

^ Native DDR speed means nearly zip, and those non-OC RAM speeds only work correctly if they're listed on the Certified/QVL listed XMP memory; meaning you'll need to manually set the DDR speed. The F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM is not supported in the QVL list.

CF {Crossfire/CrossFireX} allows the configuration of 2 ATI HD XXXX GPUs {Graphical Processing Unit(s)} via a "bridge" and your MOBO must support that feature which the new ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 does support CF.

Your current Asus M4A77TD MOBO can be easily set to run 1600 MHz DDR. Also, faster DDR will at best increase your gaming 2-5 FPS.

So I will have to manually set the timings on the new motherboard as I have on my current board? I don't plan on running crossfire though, It's the chipset I want and they dont have a single pci-e board out that doesn't have graphics built into that I know of, but I may be mistaken?? On my current board in bios I have the option to set either 800, 1066, 1333 or 1600. I have tried 1066 and 1333 overclocked to 1600 and I have tries 1600 stock. Tried just about everything. My thing is I am having trouble getting passed 3.81 ghz overclocked. Seem's like anything higher I just have shutdowns when running prime95. I am currently running Linx as a tester at 3.83 ghz with no problems so far .

Only {Certified/QVL} memory will have the correct timings set correctly via XMP; don't use XMP unless the EXACT P/N is indicated on the list otherwise BSOD/Post Failure/etc WILL result.

I am a little confused, the DDR that you linked is 1600 MHz?!

As I said, the difference between 1333 MHz -> 1600 MHz may at best result in 2-5 FPS increase, and unless you are interested in CF then you're wasting your $ with a new MOBO. {crazy if just for DDR}.

Your current MOBO - 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory

CAS 7-8-7-24-2N @ 1.65V

The following assumes no CPU OC
Open AI Tweaker
Set the DRAM Frequency = 1600 MHz
DRAM Voltage 1.65V

Open DRAM Timing Control
{Set the CAS for ALL installed memory}
7-8-7-24-2N

I doubt that a different motherboard will let you overclock significantly better.

It would be better to sell your processor and spend the money on a better chip.
