Question Will a A10 cooler be okay to breadboard a FX 8350?

I just want to see if it posts then I'll shut it down. I have a 212 EVO cooler but I'm currently using it and I'm going to swap coolers.

Should be fine for that. It's not going to heat up much just POSTing.

Maybe. Bios runs TDP loads, so if the cooler is from a 95/100w A10, it'll be fine. If the cooler is from the 45/65w A10's then it'll be somewhat toasty on a 125w cpu

For entering BIOS and doing nothing else, it will be fine, don't try to install an OS or anything as even the stock cooler for the 8350 wasn't enough to keep it from sounding like a jet engine shooting up to 70C.

Thanks for the replies. It's a 5800K 100W cooler. I forgot I had a Phenom 9600 with it's stock heat pipped cooler on it at my bros house. Could I swap the A10 cooler with that one and use the heat piped one on the FX? The Phenom is a 95W and I'm thinking the A10 cooler would be more suitable for it. The Phenom one I have is the top-right one and the A10 cooler I have is the bottom-center one.

Yes you would be able to, that'd be ideal since the Phenom 2600 like you said is only a 95W TDP CPU. The Phenom cooler looks almost the same as the stock FX 8350 cooler.

Thanks for the help guys! Bought a Asrock Fatal1ty 990fx pro off ebay for $90 and I'm going to OC it using a H212 EVO thats currently mounted on my bros A10. I'm using a Ryzen 5 1600 and suggested one to him but we decided to check ebay for deals on cheap FX stuff and hit jackpot. Thanks again!
