Will a asus gtx 760 fit into a dell xps 8700 case. The specific one is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DBPKEOI/ref=s9_psimh_gw_p147_d0_i5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=16BMHK8787JTPXZPPPC3&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
Will it work with the stock 460w power supply. My other parts are intel i7 4770 with 8gb of ram, 1tb hdd. How big of one do i need? If it will not fit into that case i would switch it into a old velocity micro case. Would that work. How hard would it be?

I will open the case and make a measurement like in the link to see the GPU will fit or not. The gtx760 is 8.6 in. http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/7/71184/2412202-graphics_measure.png

For the PSU, if the dell psu has two 6pin pcie connectors like capt_taco said, and if you can find one this adapter, 2x 6pin ( male) to 1x 8pin (female), http://www.distris.de/ebay-Dateien/zub_pci-e_2x6_8.JPG then the dell Psu may use with gtx760, if you can find anything like that, just buy the new PSU like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RJ8EKI/?tag=pcpapi-20 because you can use the 6 pin to 8 pin adapter, most of 6pin connector will output 75w, and 8 pin will output 150w.
I doubt the power supply will work for that card. The card uses an 8-pin PCIe power plug, and the only thing I can find about the PSU says it has two 6-pin PCIe plugs. So it likely just will not fit.

Switching everything into a new case is basically the same as reassembling the entire machine from scratch, except without removing the CPU. It's not rocket science, but if you're not used to building machines, count on it taking all afternoon. Can't say for sure whether it would fit in the Dell case, but with a new you can pick something that's better anyway in terms of airflow and cooling, so that's what I'd do.
