2 questions:
  1. Will a Athlon 3000g work with a Asus prime A320M-k out of the box?
  2. Will I need a graphics card? (I know the cpu has integrated graphics, so I'm confused)

All Ryzen CPU's that end with the letter "G" means that there is an integrated GPU so no you dont need a discrete graphics card to have an image output. Based on the motherboard site the CPU is supported from the bios version 5603 or above (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-A320M-K/HelpDesk_CPU/).

1)only if it have the min of bios version 5603
2)no
For a little more background, the 5603 BIOS was released in Nov 2020 so it is possible to get a board with a newer (although there is only one newer BIOS). A320 motherboards are really low end and not very popular because they are low end. If you buy from a shop, you can get them to update the BIOS. If you buy on-line you have a 50/50 chance (IMO) of getting a new enough BIOS. An A320 board could have been sitting around for a while before selling because of the low popularity.
