Will a Blu-Ray optical drive support DVD-ROM?

I'm building my first custom tower, and I'm wondering if a Blu-Ray optical drive will be compatible with DVD-ROM drives, so I can use physical copies of video games. Any type of help will be appreciated!

My Blu-ray Disc Rewriter is able to handle any DVD disc placed into it.

it should be dvd and cd compatible. the spec sheet will tell you for sure in case you have any doubts.

And that would include video games as well? because I get most of my PC games from family members who don't use the internet very much, so I end up getting the physical copy.
