Will a BTX motherboard go in a ATX case.

Beacuse i have an dell pc and i was wondering if i could replace the case with a better one like just put my motherboard in an different case.

And i don't understand how BTX motherboards are obsolete im pretty sure there still make them in dell pre-bulit pcs

I think you actually answered your own question here.

How all i wanted to know if it was possible to put it in an ATX case.

No i think you got me wrong there is nothing wrong with my pc i just wanted to change case that's all my pc is a Dell Precision T3500 and the motherboard is a 9KPNV XPDFK motherboard.

As the previous poster said above, BTX motherboards are obsolete. They were adopted more than a decade ago by a few OEMs but the standard was quickly abandoned and you only see these now in a few pre-builts. There are a couple BTX cases floating around -- you'll probably find a few on ebay -- but you'll have a very limited selection to choose from. Dell prebuilts aren't designed for this type of flexibility.

It's not that it's obsolete because it offers "better" cooling than atx but it's rare and you don't find any aftermarket cases anymore since lga 775 days. It might as well be handled like a proprietary form factor. Last I saw it being used was a lot with core 2, then a rare ivy bridge model but I haven't seen them use it anymore.

The t3500 is a modified atx. It's also flipped. It will fit in a atx case. Just the cpu and ram was moved. The io and expansion slots are still at the same place to fit atx. The issue you'll run into is dell uses a proprietary front panel connector. I'd just stick with the case. If you need to upgrade, it should be a whole new build.

So your saying that my motherboard will fit into an ATX case?

I don't see on the specs saying it fits eatx. I don't know of any cheap ones. I don't really know of any good ones, I don't keep up with such large cases. It'll say what form factors it'll fit so I'll just be in the same position searching like you.
