Will a coax splitter affect my internet performance.

Hey guys,

I currently get my internet by connecting my router to a coax cable in my room. The problem is that I also want to get cable for my TV in the same room but I only have one coax port which is being used for my router. I want to buy a simple 2-way coax splitter but I am worried that once I connect both my TV and my router to the splitter my download and upload speeds will be decreased. Is this a thing, or will I be fine if I get the splitter?

Any help would be appreciated.

you will be fine with the splitter.
your house only has one cable line from outside, a splitter is needed for 99% of homes it is nothing to worry about
