Will a Corsair CS 550m be enough for this build? And can I use a 970 with it?

CPU - i5 4460
GPU - GTX 960 4gb
Ram - 2x8gb
Motherboard - Asus Z97-P
1tb Caviar Blue
4 case fans
PSU - Corsair CS 550m

Can it be sufficient with a EVGA Superclocked 970 or should I stick with the Strix 960?

Your cpu is exceptionally power efficient so as long as you don't go and add 25 7200rpm hard drives to your build the 970 should work just fine.

It will be more than enough. The CS range are mediocre quality but ok and a 500w would be plenty for a 970
