will a Corsair CX500 be enough for this build?

While it does meet the minimum criteria for your GTX 970, I suggest you avoid Corsair's CX and VS series, its internal components are made with low quality components and it tends to deteriorate much faster than expected, around the same price you should be able to get a XFX 550w, EVGA 500w or a Seasonic 600w M12II PSU, all of them better quality units.

Thats also a great unit, im not a big fan of dual rail PSUs, but it should serve you well.
