Will a Corsair H50 be good enough for a i-7 8700k

Sure. But if you're going for an AIO, at least get a 240 or 280mm model.
The 120mms aren't worth it and are outperformed by some air coolers.

im just gonna return it and buy a evo 212, because i wanna overclock it to atleast 5 ghz

Evo 212 won't let you overclock it to 5GHz. The cooler is too outdated. Noctua's range of air coolers is good, NH-D14, NH-D15, NH-D15S or Cryorig R1 Ultimate, H5, H7. While it matters what cooler you get, it's still a silicon lottery. Every chip overclocks differently, some better, some worse.

You want to do extreme overclocks? With an entry level cooler(i.e., the 212)? Not happening. Don't get a high-end cpu and then cheap out on the cooling...
You have to go either big air cooling(I think a couple mid sized can do it too) or the 240/280mm AIO sizes I mentioned earlier.

do you think that it would be enough for it to run stock at 3.7 and turbo to 4.7 (thats how it works right?. im new to the overclocking scene)

Well, I wouldn't risk it. Age of Evo 212 reign is over long ago. A good alternative tho, if you don't plan to overclock for now, is Cryorig H7. It's a cheap yet a good air cooler, it's 35£ on Amazon UK and 35$ on US. Will keep your i7 under control no problem.
