I have a monitor that has DVI-D, VGA, and HDMI slots, but unfortunately, the HDMI input to the monitor is only 1.4. This means I can't run 144hz on the HDMI 2.0 I just received. How can I fix this issue without having to buy a brand new monitor ?

Solution
Would need an active dual link adapter which can be pricey. Ones that aren't fake or single link, costs around $100. Pays almost half of a new monitor.

Additionally, there are 144Hz Hdmi v1.4 monitors out there, it's just the manufacturer of your monitor chose not to implement.
