Will a FM1 compatible cooler work with an FM2+ Socket?

Yeah so I just recently ordered a new CPU (AMD A8-7650K) along with a new cooler (Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO) to go along with it and I have just realised I have forgotten to check the compatibility. After checking I found that it was compatible with the FM1 socket but it didn't say anything about FM2 or FM2+. I was just wanting to know if there was a way to get it fit on because I am really not in the mood and don't have the money to get another cooler. Thanks.

Yes, you're good. AMD hasn't changed their retention bracket in generations (thankfully). Even the AM4 socket uses the same retention bracket; just the mounting holes spacing for it have changed in that case. So the TX3 should snap right on.

Cheers mate. Just wanted to know because some sites were saying a cooler that's not compatible with your socket will make your CPU overheat.

Lol... overheat? Your A8-7650K APU is only a 95W processor. I used the TX3 (non-EVO) to cool a 125W FX- 8350. Even OC'ed it a bit with good results.
