Will a GeForce GTX 750 Ti work with a 240 Watt Power supply?

I'm upgrading my PC to a GTX 750 Ti from a GTX 645, I have a 240 Watt power brick with my Alienware X51 and I was wondering if this would work with the 750 Ti. On the internet I found people saying it requires at least 300 Watts of power, but I asked and Alienware tech person who said I wouldn't have to buy a new power brick and that my 240 Watt would work fine. I would like to figure this out before buying the 750 Ti.

It depends on the power supply and which version of the graphics card you want to buy. Also it depends on the other hardware parts like the cpu you have. 240 W COULD be enough, but its not recommended. Important is the 12 Volt rail on your psu.

intel core i3 4130 3.4 Ghz

There is no hint about the 12v rail on the specs site. Is this unit for a mobile laptop? Do you can install/replace a graphics card? I am just surprised about the psu. Usually on notebooks, you cant just replace the graphics card like on a regular pc. And if you could, there would be special small cards for the notebook.

I have an Alienware X51 which is a very small desktop, the reason it is small is because of the external brick.

Are you sure about your GTX 645? I mean, that page says it requires 450 Watts and your psu can hold only 240 Watts?

Are you sure about your GTX 645? I mean, that page says it requires 450 Watts and your psu can hold only 240 Watts?

My Graphics card requiers 350w and my psu is 300 + i have a core 2 quad so... dont listen to what it says on the manufacturer's website
