Will a gigabyte gpu rgb's work on an asus motherboard?

Hello, I'm a bit new to the pc world but I've been looking into my first pc. Trying to get everything to match up and make sure nothing is incompatible. I know two different brands have no issues working together but I am getting an asus rog strix z270e gaming mobo along with a Gigabyte AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G, does the rgb still work on the gpu even if it's on an asus mobo?

I got a Gigabyte board and the RGB of my Gainward card work.

However you cant control them via the boards software or sync them like the Asus Aura feature lets you with an Asus card.
