Will a Gigabyte GTX 980 work on my system

Currently have a Gigabyte GTX 660 and am looking to upgrade to a 980.

Current build:
PSU: Coolermaster RS-500-PCAR-13 ATX.
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 PRO3 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570
RAM: G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT (2x4GB) DDR3
OS: Windows 10

Nvidia recommends a minimum 500 watt PSU. The 980 draws 25 more watts and uses 2 six pin PCIe connections for power than your current card. This should be be adequate in a non-overclocked system

Thanks for the quick reply. No I'm not overclocked.
A friend of mine suggested that I need to be careful of 'rails' or something?

You've got 240 watts on each 12v rail. The GTX 980 will only be drawing 165. It will work. Although a new bigger PSU never hurts anything
