Will a graphics card affect CPU perfomance

Gigabyte z370xp , 1x16g ram
GTX570. I just want to ask if the graphics card is affecting the perfomance of the cpu ? I do video editing Pinacle studio do freeze while editing.

Anything requiring the raw power of the CPU alone, should not be affected by the GPU in use.

If you're using GPU accelerated rendering, then a GTX570 may well be a limiting factor and impacting the CPUs ability to do it's thing.

If you're experiencing freezing, there's likely a problem (depending on the scope of the project; it may simply be too much for the 8700K to handle smoothly)
