[SOLVED] Will a GT 1030 work in a r12 with i5 11400F

Solution
no, I want to get it from ebay where it wont have a gpu and the gt 1030 looks good but I want to know if it would work.
GT 1030 looks good for what? The GDDR5 version of the GT 1030 is terrible for gaming and the DDR4 version is 30% slower. It's really only good for up to 4k display output at 60Hz or higher refreshrate. I'm not saying you can't play games on it, but most titles from the last 5 years are going to run terrible at any resolution above 720p.

Due to the shortages, the only way you could most commonly get a GPU better than the gt 1030 right now is to buy a used one on eBay or something. Even then, gpus over the 1030 (for example 1050) could cost more than $150, but you could find deals under $150 however, so it is best for you to keep an eye on that gpu to find a price you are willing to pay.

As a GT 1030 user, yes, low settings, but fortnite does have a thing known as performance mode which makes the game run on even intel igpus. So if all you want is to play fortnite at around 50-90 fps, and maybe other esports titles then yes the GT 1030 is good. However if you are going to get the gt 1030 atleast make sure it's the ddr5 version.

Ah yes, good old performance mode. I currently use performance mode with my i5 3rd gen intel he graphics 2500 and in games it gets 15 fps but in creative sometimes 30. I was planning to use performance mode because then i could get about 75 fps which is the refresh rate of my monitor. If the gt 1030 (gddr5 version) can get about 100 fps in performance mode and competitive settings than it would be fine. Would it get that 100 fps I want?

Uh the gt 1030 could crank 100 fps pretty easily, you may notice some fps drops when you look at busy areas or you go outside with a lot of players, but even then it will still most certainly be over 70 fps. It would get a consistent 90-100 fps on average, or possibly even more.

You may find the gddr4 version for cheaper, but they do perform less than the gddr5 version, but not much. Also different versions don't make them incompatible. But I really recommend you to buy a card that is better then the gt 1030 while being relatively reasonable in price, such as some amd cards like the rx 560 and 570 are great options.
