Hello all, I have a gtx 1060 6gb and looking to run a quad monitor setup. I would be doing normal work on most of the monitors. I'd only be gaming on one of the monitors at a time. What do you guys think?

Thank you,
Nick

Solution
yup, no problem. you could run 4 monitors off the igp of an i5 if your mobo had 4 outputs!! little effort for normal use. of course gaming is a different story but for only gaming n 1, no problem at all.

the 1060 will handle 4 office monitors without even breaking a sweat. do pay close attention to connection types for the various cards as they do vary a lot. here is a list of cards if you wish to do some comparison shopping. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902600 sadly i did not include outputs in the specs i listed but all are linked back to product page so they are easy to find quickly
Alright, thank you. Do you think it would be stable. I've heard very mixed responses from this. Someone said I could game on 3 of them and be fine. Then another said 1060 will barely run 4 monitors.

+Nick19 A GTX 1060 is more than fine for 4 display. Even a GTX 1050 TI or 750 TI would be fine, IF they had four display connections; many of those particular cards only have 2 or 3. The person who said they will barely run, probably misread your question and thought you were attempting to game on all four displays. Please keep in mind that a 1060 normally has 3 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI connection. Please make sure that all your displays have the corresponding ports and cables.

I own a GTX 1060 6 GB and truly love it. Go for your GPU purchase and enjoy. By the way, I used to work at a company whose computers had four displays connected to a Nvidia NVS 510; no gaming of course. It ran four 1920 x 1200 displays like a champ, and represents but a fraction of the performance of a GTX 1060.

Yeah you could game across all 3 if you really wanted to, but you would have to lower your settings. the 1060 can run 5 screens with no issues. again you just need to proper cables.
