I am looking to upgrade my cpu from the Pentium G4560 to the i5 7600k and i was wondering if it will pair well with a 1060 Graphics card. I was just wondering if you would get good FPS with the pair. If i were to get the i5 7600K, i would probs overclock so would this affect the performance negatively/positively with a 1060? I know a 1070 works well with the i5 7600k but i really don't want to buy a new graphics card yet. I am wanting to achieve over 60 fps in all games with the highest setting for 1080p gaming.

Thank you in advance if you answer :)

Yes, it should pair good and depending on kind of game you should get better performance than before. That goes mostly for games that can use more cores, other ones may not benefit much.
I don't know $15 for 300 MHz + whatever you spend on the cooler. it's a toss up for not a lot of performance. Certainly and option and not a waste, but wanted op to know 1) a k series won't oc on a non z series board 2) a cheaper very similar performance option did exist 3) he had to buy a cooler to run the k series chip.

I have a Asus prime h270 -plus. Would you recommend this/another cpu that would get good performance and work well with a 1060 3gb. I most likely will upgrade to a 1070 in the future but for the moment i am just wanting to upgrade my cpu to hopefully increase my performance.

The game i would be playing are Battlefield series, ghost recon wildlands, shadow of war (when it comes out), GTA, etc. So pretty much the mainstream games
