My specs

Intel xeon e5-1650 3.4ghz 6 core
16gb ram
Current gpu Dual quadro 600's
PSU 625w
1tb ssd
Motherboard is socket lga 2011

It's a dell t3600 precision

So I wondering if a gtx 1070 8gb will be fine paired with my intel xeon e5-1650 ?
I plan on to game at 1080p max settings

Solution
the xeon e5-1650 is better then the amd fx 8320e which is what im currently running, with a 1060 and have 0 issues.
I can only imagine your xeon e5-1650 with 1070 will run just fine at 1080p.
Besides powering it the only other potential issue is motherboard compatibility. You don't mention your motherboard so it's impossible for me to guess if that would be a problem or not. As far as performance goes, you have plenty of cores and threads but of course they aren't as fast as with new CPUs. So you'll get the best possible 1080p performance your Xeon will allow by using the 1070.

it's socket lga2011 I looked up the specs and it says Discrete PCIe 3.0 / 2.0 x 1 are supported also it's a dell t3600 precision
