Will a GTX 670 hold its own on a 1440p monitor with next gen graphics?

As the title says, I currently game on a GTX 670 and a 1440p monitor. With the new consoles being released later this year will my GTX 670 hold it's own? Or will I see significant performance drops because I'm gaming at 1440p? If so, will I be better off upgrading to a GTX 780?

My specs are:

i5 2500k @ 4.6GHz
MSI GTX 670
16GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM

Thanks for the responses!

Edit: I have a Micro ATX set up with a sound card and a 650W PSU. SLI is pretty much out of the question.

Edit 2: I absolutely love my case (Corsair 350D) and my build. I'm not going to get a bigger case, a bigger motherboard, a bigger PSU, and a second GPU. All that seems like a lot of money and effort.

Solution
Keep in mind the big thing about this console release is... "oh my, now we can actually generate 1080p instead of scaling 720"

If your doing fine now, you'll carry on doing fine. Although if your used to gaming at max settings, you might be reduced to high in a year or so. But still better than console 😉

If you're worried about significant performance loss, just grab a second for sli. If you are able to fit 2 cards in your case it will be cheaper than getting a 780 and still perform better.

Unfortunately, I have a M-ATX case with no space for a second GPU. Not only that but I have a 650W PSU which means that even if I had the space for a second GPU, I'd still need to buy a higher wattage PSU.

I'm used to gaming at max settings. I supposed I'm a bit spoiled as I want everything to look amazing. If I do upgrade, I won't plan on doing it until later this year.

Wait for amd to release 9000 series then the price of 780 will surely come down

The performance drop from 1080 to 1440 is about 30% so you will still be getting very good performance, and at a resolution the console won't be able to play natively. When you start finding games looking ugly or they get unplayable that's when you should upgrade. Also amd may be releasing something in the next few months if you are willing to wait and see what they have up their sleeves.
