Will a GTX 970 fit into my system?

Case - ACER Predator G3 (605)

PSU - 500w


Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-4770 Processor (3.4 GHz, 3.9 GHz with TurboBoost, 8 MB cache

RAM - 8 GB DDR3 (32 GB maximum installable RAM)

Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (1.5 GB)

Storage - 1 TB HDD, 7200 rpm, 128 GB SSD

Motherboard Intel B85

Wireless card - Wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n

When I purchased it I noticed it said "Expansion card slot - PCI x 1
- PCIe x 1" But i'm a relative n00b with PC's after only owning this one for a year and a half

Not sure for yours but my Acer Predator is the GTX760 version. I was able to change to Zotac Twin Fan GTX970 with absolutely no problems (bootings or etc)

If its same as mine. Our 500W PSU is a 80+ Gold Standard PSU which was...


So when you say "No larger than the 660 is this in terms of size? Ive been told theres only like a 2cm difference by people but they know about as much as me"

If its same as mine. Our 500W PSU is a 80+ Gold Standard PSU which was definitely enough, and the CPU Cooler fan was a japanese brand (taichi I think) which was a really decent one.

Is there an update to this thread-the op...other than selfa's answer. I too am looking for this to be answered-I too am trying to upgrade my acer ag3-predator (2014 model) with a gtx 970. Thank you
