Will a gtx 970 or gtx 980 be unstable on system with 32gh ram

Hey guys.Really sorry if the question sounds insignificant but a friend of mine with a gtx 970 graphics card wanted to upgrade from dual channel 16gb ddr3 to quad channel 32gb.I happened to come across a website called GeForce Forums where many users said that their gtx 970 was unstable on a system with 32gb ram with frequent crashes while in applications.He needs the 32 gigs as he's a video editing tycoon for short films.Or should he scram his 970?

Looks like a driver issue, if this thread is legit then you are not the only one, it happened last year around October it seems:

However, the conclusion is that a driver fixed the issue, hence make sure you'll have all the drivers for your 970.

with that much ram you might need to up the qpi/dram core voltage a little to make the ram run stable. Running 4 stick puts a little bit of a load on the memory controller and you need to give it a little more juice to make it stable.

Not really, though it might depend on RAM-mobo combo. I'm running 4x8GB 1.5v 1600 RAM at 1866 with stock voltage and never had any issues.
