Well, I got my new computer everything is brilliant, but I want more space.

I have my old computer still. I am wondering if a hard drive with vista, will run as a secondary (actually tertiary) with another HDD that has windows 7 on it. What will happen on boot? Will it ask me which operating system to use?

,Thanks 😀

Solution
You can use that as a secondary drive. Just don't install Win 7 with the old drive installed at the same time. That is very important.

Just set the BIOS to boot to your Win 7 drive.

You can either create a folder and store your data in the old drive or shrink the partition to create a new partition as a second drive.

If you have a SATA drive then you don't have to worry about jumpers.

At least I have not seen that ever in the nearly 300 systems I have opened up.

Any new computer should come with a SATA drive without complicating jumpers to configure.
