Hello Brothers and their sisters,

I want to ask a question to the community that....
But first my system's complete specs:

Processor --> Intel Core i3 540 @3.06 Ghz. ,
RAM --> Some Chinese brand 1x4 GB 1333 Mhz.
Motherboard--> Intel DH55TC Motherboard @ PciE 2.0
OS --> Windows 7 x64
PSU -->Zebronics 450W
Hard drive -->Really bad Seagate 160 GB SATA (Upgrading soon)
GPU -->That's what I am here for. (By the way I have Intel HD Graphics right now)
So now the question ..
Sorry but I am a real noob so I really don't know much.
I want to ask that if my i3 540 will be compatible with a GTX 1050 (non Ti)?
And if yes, how much would it bottleneck the GPU ?

Thanks in advance! ;p

A good measure of how GPU's and CPU's compare in performance is to go to the 3DMark website and check their results. What you want to look for is about equivalent scores with a bias towards the graphics score being a little higher but still in the same ballpark. Punching in the search engine the 540 and 1050 shows

Now this is just one result so I also checked to see what an equivalent GPU might be scorring. There was one for an RX 460

which is about the same so it give a comfort feeling that the assessment is repeatable. Based on this I see the GPU only slightly overpowering the CPU.

Thank you man!
You replied just 3 hours after I posted this thread!
This answer is good but can you please give me a more detailed explanation?

Thank you , Thank you Very much.
You're great!

As one who also have this CPU and looking for new GPU, is 1050 worth or should we also upgrade CPU?
