Will a i5 7400 fit with MSI Z270 GAMING M5 MOTHERBOARD

so my pc dosent turn on when power button is pressed, got a new psu and still nothing, im thinking of getting new motherboard. will my current cpu fit the motherboard MSI Z270 GAMING M5 MOTHERBOARD. thanks in advanced!.

There are 3 versions of 1151.

All 100 series boards "B150, Z170" will take 7th gen chips with a BIOS update.
All 200 series boards will take 6th gen and 7th gen chips without a BIOS update.
300 sereis boards support 8th gen by default and 9th Gen chips with a Bios update

So what should you pick? That depends on if you ever plan on overclocking with a K chip. Used 100 series and B250 boards can be found for as low as $35. Generally you want the latest chipset you can find, 200 series boards with 7th gen chips support Optane while 100 series boards will just...



another question. is i5 7400 compatible with 1151 v1 or 1151 v2 MOBOs?
 

is it compatible with z270 motherboards? should i get a b250 mobo or z270 for my i5 7400
