Will a i5 7600 bottleneck a EVGA GTX 980 4GB?

Solution
you should buy the GTX 1060 6GB instead of the 4GB GTX 980, it offers the same performance at a cheaper price and has more VRAM which should help in using high texture settings. a good AMD alternative would be the RX 580 8GB, with this you can get a cheap freesync monitor and have a good gaming experience.

Seriously?

At 1080p this combo could max out anything you throw at it easily. It could even do 1440p if you're willing to make a few compromises.

If OP wants to hold onto their rig for more than two years... then yeah I am serious as hell.

Two years?

Up until a couple months ago I was maxing out games at 1080p on a 5 year old AMD rig. No it wasn't perfect 60fps in everything (but many games like DOOM it was well over 60). The 7600 is the best budget gaming CPU right now, and 1080p can only handle so much texture detail. While a couple settings may need to be dropped in some games, this system will have no problem playing anything maxed or nearly maxed at 1080p for the forseeable future.
