Hi,

Im looking at upgrading my CPU from an i5 6600k to a 6700/7700k but i dont know if it will support the 7700k and if so , is there any point in getting it over the 6700k?

I know its probably better to get a new motherboard and get the 8700k or a ryzen but that would take me ages to get that sort of money.

Current pc-
GPU-gigabyte RTX 2070
CPU-i5 6600k
motherboard- Asus b150m-c

Your mobo can't OC the 'k' suffix CPU's so getting a vanilla 6700/7700 without the k might save a couple of quid.
