Question will a i7-9700k work with my motherboard? (B360m chipset motherboard)

I currently have an i5-9400f cpu and im currently looking to upgrade. my motherboard is a B360m chipset. would a i7-9700k work with it? thanks

Update your bios to the latest version, just as best practice. Then install the 9700k and it should work.

Keep in mind, you will need to buy a better cooler. The 9700k has no included cooler and the 9400fs cooler will not cut it.

If it's already working with a 9x00 series CPU, probably; I'd check with the specific mainboard manufacturer's website, referncing their 'supported CPU list' to be sure, just in case there were any VRM/wattage concerns with a specific mainboard sample....

(If it is supported, and you go that route, PLEASE don't try to use the 9400F's factory cooler on the 9700K; it is inadequate even for the 9400F, and hopeless throttling would occur with the 9700K)
