Will a internal dvd drive work if I touched it without anti static wrist strap???

So, I wasnt thinking and touched and held my dvd drive that just came in the mail without any anti static wrist strap or gloves. Will it not be affected by me touching it? Will it still work?

It will work fine all the components of optical drive that can be damaged by static are inside of metal "box"
