[SOLVED] Will a 'K' CPU Work in HP Elitedesk 700 G1 SFF?

So, recently I bought an HP Elitedesk 700 G1 SFF pc. It comes with an i5-4590 and Q87 chipset. I was planning to upgrade to an i5-4690k. I want to know if the processor is compatible with this HP motherboard and if it supports overclocking because I have seen people overclocking on Q87.

Solution
The processor should work as the spec sheet says it supports all cpus for the chipset. However, you won't be overclocking anything using the bios on this machine. You can use some other programs to possibly do it like throttlestop, but that's in software not hardware so there's a lot of limitations.

Upgrading from the 4590 to a 4690k and running the 4690k stock won't do much for speed at all. However, the 4790k is a real beast even in stock form and will be a serious kick in the pants:

The problem is that the 4790k isn't cheap because of this. I've been looking for one at a cheap price now for months to upgrade my Dell 3020.

Yup, first I was thinking to upgrade to an i7 but they are a lot more expensive than the i5, so I decided to get an i5 'K' cpu and overclock it to 4.0Ghz.
P.S I think that Dell and HP limit cpu compatibility.

You won't be able to overclock it.

And Dell and HP are actually quite flexible when it comes to processor compatibility as they allow xeons even though they don't tell you.
