Will a laptop with a Nvidia 980M 4GB card output at 60 FPS on 1440p monitor?

Hi, I am looking to buy a new 1440p acer monitor to output my laptop to while at home playing games. Will a Alienware 15 with a i7 4720, Nvidia 980m 4gb output to a 1440p monitor and be able to achieve around 60 FPS on most games?

if your laptop has dp/mini dp then yes can output 1440p even at 144hz on an external monitor. you can check the gpu performance here you should expect good performance at 1440p with most games! thats a very capable laptop you have.!

Gtx 980m is meant for 1080p gaming. You won't be able to get 60 frames in some titles, but will on others if you are will to sacrifice some detail.

A desktop 980 can make 1440 in at least 30, so no, a mobile 980m not going to get 60
