Will a low wattage PSU damage my GPU?

I have a brand new GPU, I purchased a eVGA GTX 1080. I googled if my PSU was able to handle it and I also asked in a local forum. They said it was able to run the 1080. But now while I'm playing some games stutter and it's not a network nor a CPU or memory problem. I have a high end gaming PC

I have a CoolerMaster SilentPro de 700W Bronze and in theory it can handle the GTX 1080 in any workload but my video card is quite old, like 6-7 years old. I know there's some decay in the GPU's performance.

Could it damage my new video card if I run it with this old PSU? Could it send less wattage than required? Lower wattage can damage the video card?

Solution
yes you can damage your components with a low quality power supply, the wattage doesn't matter tho.

your power supply is far from the worst but it isn't exactly made to take a lot of stress for long gaming sessions.
if you use a your power supply in the long term , it can cause screen freezes and black screens.
HOWEVER not lagg it either makes your hardware work or not.

Thanks a lot. That's what I was thinking and nobody could tell me this in other forums.

I will receive a eVGA T2 1000W PSU next week or the other and change it right away. I won't be playing till then (a f****** big effort on my side as I love gaming).

Again... thanks a lot!
