So my old ASUS HD 6850 may have conked out because it always gets stuck in a black screen every time I boot. Reinstalled drivers multiple times but same effect so now I'm looking at a new GPU for my old system. Planning to do incremental updates on the whole system but wanted to start with the GPU if possible.
I have a 1000W PSU under the hood so I guess my power requirements should be good, but I'm not sure if modern GPUs will run on my old ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe motherboard despite the PCIe being backwards compatible.
Some tips would be much appreciated as I'm very much behind on current computing tech.
