Will a Molex to 6 Pin Adapter fix this?

So my friend bought a PC pre built from best buy. I picked him out a video card but it needs a 6pin power connecter, the problem is that the only thing available is a molex Cable. Will a simple adapter fix this? I checked and his PSU is 300w and the budget card I picked out is the radeon 7770

I would not recommend running the 7770 on a 300W OEM power supply. Generally those power supplies are only good for whats in them.

You could get a $40 power supply from Newegg that will power the system reliably.

I don't think it will work.
From AMD:
"500W (or greater) power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended"
So I suggest installing a greater power supply.

So what about a 7750 that does not require a power connecter at all? Would that work?

It's on the edge. I suggest buying a greater power supply.
