Will a "MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5" be compatible with my current pc build? (One I'm looking to purchase to replace an overheating R9 290x.)

Yes it will your Power Supply is sufficient, Motherboard is compatible (almost any would be) and you have enough room in your case. It's a very nice build good luck with the upgrade! Hope this helps

It helps tremendously! I was guessing it would work fine, but I really needed that second opinion considering my lack of knowledge. Thanks again for such a quick reply, and thanks for complimenting my build. It's nice to know it's at least still somewhat relevant after a couple years. I really appreciate the help.

Personally I would suggest getting the 1070. This is the moment when 1060 will end it's life.
