Hey!

I was hoping you guys could help me out, I am wondering if an MSI GTX 980 can fit in my case and on my motherboard. I have an Acer Aspire with a motherboard Aspire-605. When I measure my case it fits. But when I look at my motherboard there's a cable right where the GTX will come. See picture..

How can I fit the GTX? By buying a new motherboard? If yes, which one? Or can I replace the cable somewhere else? And where?

I have absolutely no clue, I'm really bad with computers to be honest.

Thank you very much!

Ps. English is not my original language, sorry for mistakes and bad grammar.

Obviously, the longest card you can use is limited to the length up to that connector. And from the looks of what I can see in that picture, the motherboard and case may or may not have proprietary connectors. So you'd have to replace the board and the case together if it is proprietary.
What exact model Aspire 605 do you have? mini tower, small form factor?
What CPU do you have? The GTX 980 takes a high end processor to keep up with it. Otherwise you waste your money on performance you can't use.
Do you have a high quality 500W or better PSU with 2 x 6-pin connectors?
Which 980 are you looking at? they aren't all the same length. How much room do you have up to that connector?

Thanks for your answer! I'm not sure if it has proprietary connectors, is there a way to find out? I have an Acer Aspire TC-605 I5606, according to internet is a
Miditower. I was planning to buy a new PSU along with the new graphic card. I saw a PSU with 750W, this one: http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/modular-gm-series/g750m/. And this is the 980 I'm looking at: https://www.msi.com/product/graphics-card/GTX-980-GAMING-4G.html#hero-overview

The length from the end of the case untill the connector is 18 cm.
