Will a Netgear usb adapter work with xfinity router

I feel as this will NOT work and this is actually a very dumb question XD, but i am looking for a answer. I want to give this usb adapter https://www.netgear.com/support/product/WNA3100.aspx?cid=wmt_netgear_organic to my buddie so he can use it for his new pc but he has a xfinity (comcast) router and i was wondering if it will acceot this netgear product. It's only the wireless standard that matters(b/g/n/ac), not the make of teh equipment.
Ofcourse they will work, Your phone/laptop works everywhere, doesn't it?
